Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquire basic knowledge about the identification and evaluation of influences of the living and working environment on population health and on methods of optimization of physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial factors. The aim of the course is to obtain basic information on epidemiology, etiology and prevention of portable and non-communicable diseases of the mass incidence (KVN, malignant tumors, allergies, obesity, osteoporosis, etc.). The special aim is to acquire knowledge from the field of radiation hygiene.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- Understand and interpret the importance of the main protective and risk factors and their contribution to the protection and promotion of the health of individuals and populations with a particular focus on the issue of radiology.
- Understand the main objectives and priorities of primary prevention in the field of creating a risk-free and ergonomic working environment.
- Know markers of professional damage.
- Understanding the epidemic spread of infectious diseases will be able to understand the principles of epidemiology of infectious diseases with an emphasis on nosocomial infections
- create and apply antiepidemic practices in their practice.

  • 1. Fundamentals and Principles of Infectious Epidemiology. 2. Infestation spreading process, source, transmission paths. 3. Sterilization of medical material, disinfection. 4. Antiepidemic regimen at the radiological workplace. 5. Manipulation with biological material. 6. Hygiene of hands. 7. Epidemiology of respiratory diseases. 8. Epidemiology of intestinal infections. 9. Hepatitis epidemiology. 10. Nosocomial infections. 11. Fundamentals and principles of non-infectious epidemiology. 12. The main determinants of health, the main causes of non-infectious diseases. 13. Physical factors in the living and working environment. 14. Noise, vibration, radiation, temperature and humidity, lighting. 15. Chemical pollutants in the living and working environment. 16. Preventive programs in public health.
