Course objectives
Course focused on obtaining basic routine skills in evaluation of nutrition consumption and nutrition status,in solving basic problems in community nutrition. Nutrition counselling (children, pregnant,lactating, sportsmen,patients with specific diagnosis) Practical training is oriented on deeping the theoretical knowledge, it is running in hospitals and counselling centers.
Syllabus
  • Anthropometric assessment (body heigh, weight,BMI, body circumferences, skin folds, types of calipers and how to work with them). Rules of nutrition history writing. Body Fat assessment. BIA, NMR, CT, DEXA, fat distribution. Basic physical assessment. Body construction evaluation. Typology of body constitution, nutrition software, assessment of total status, skin assessment. Nutrition intake. Biochemistry of nutrition status, immunological assessment with the relation to nutrition. Rulesof blood sampling, stool sampling, urine sampling. Specific deficiencies. Nutrition in oncology. Nutrition in urology. Nutrition in diseases of GIT. Diabetes I. and II. and nutrition.
