Course objectives
The student knows prevention, diagnostics, treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease. The student knows complex treatment procedures for individual clinical conditions in cardiology in practice The student is able to evaluate results of examination of patient in cardiology (basic physical examination, laboratory examination, evaluation of ECG curves, Xray, ultrasonic examination/. The student exerts knowledge of basic procedures in ultrasonic diagnostics. The student is able to assess efficiently and to solve crisis situation in care for patients in cardiology.
Syllabus
  • General cardiology, invasive examination methods in cardiology, non-invasive examination methods in cardiology. Disorders of rhythm in heart disease,diagnosis and treatment. failure of left heart. Congestive heart failure, treatment of heart failure. Inflammatory heart disease and specific damages of heart muscle, Rheumatic endocarditis, infectious endokarditis, myoarditis, pericarditis. Cardiomyopathy.inborn heart defects. Hypertension, definition and significance of high blood pressure, invasive examination methods, non-invasive examination methods. Pharmacotherapy in cardiology. Education of patient. Prenatal kardiology.
