Course objectives
This course provides practical applications for English including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will improve their facility with the language through discussions, exercises, assignments and presentations. The course offers opportunities to explore various techniques of language learning and teaching, while developing a broader understanding of the cultural context. The goal of this course is to maximize the use of English in all forms through activities designed to improve language skills.

Syllabus
  • The syllabus for this course will be integrated with the Teaching Methodology course offered by J. Chocholatá. It will follow the weekly topics in that course supplemented by: collocations and idioms

Teaching methods
The course uses a variety of methods including learning centers, discussions, listening exercises and student presentations in an interactive format.
Assessment methods
Students must achieve 70% of points offered in the course by active participation, quizzes, forums and group facilitation.
