Course objectives
Participants on the course will learn how to use the creative side of digital humanities for teaching purposes. They will use digital tools to create maps, visualizations, and timelines so that they are prepared to complete two majors projects of the course: a social media project and a game-creation project. A particular attention will be paid to how both social media and custom-created digital games can be used for education. During the final block of the course, the participants will use their newly acquired skills and knowledge to co-create a game-experience in Minecraft for teaching purposes. All the digital tools will be applied to Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), which will also serve as the background for the game-experience project.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will know how to use digital games, social media, and visualization-based exercises for teaching purposes.
