Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
At the end of this field practices, students should be able to: (1.) identify basic types of central-european habitats and (2.) some types of south-european ones; (3.) explain relation between ecological factors and biodiversity of selected habitats; (4.) confirm in their abilities of collecting, fixing, preparation, identifying and demonstrating of organisms and other products of nature; (5.) should be able to apply acquired knowledge into their future teachers practice.
Syllabus
  • 1st day: Montane or Alpine nature (Julian Alps, Kamnik Alps, Western Karavanks) – botany, ecology, geology, geomorphology, zoology. 2nd day: Classic karst (caves, polje and lakes, museum) – geology, geomorphology, zoology, botany, ecology. 3rd day: Coastal nature and surroundings of the Adriatic sea – botany, ecology, geology, geomorphology, zoology (aquarium etc.).

Field practice (is not possible to be replaced by another form of study, so all students must spend 3 days outdoor with their tutors).

Individual (oral) presentation (during field practice) + individual final project (printed, after field practice), both in English.
