Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to: - understand the recent distribution of particular species occuring in the area of Czech Republic; rates of protection conditions; - identify to common Czech vertebrates and explain the basic knowledge of ecological requirements and occurence in ecosystems; - have an understanding of vertebrate diverzity in the Czech Republic - characteristize of vertebrate taxons in model ecosystems; - know bionomy of model vertebrate species;
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student will be able to:
- integrate previously acquired knowledge and new experience with species determination, getting thus a comprehensive overview of vertebrate animals which occur in the Czech Republic and about their biology;
- have not only high erudition about the vertebrate fauna of the Czech Republic, but also practical skills in the field identification of vertebrates. Student will be able to transfer valuable experience to pupils at primary school;
- use the correct zoological terminology, use the terms corresponding with the level of the pupils of the elementary school.
