Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be alble to:
identify selected species based on the twigs with leaves, habitus, buds, fruits and seeds;
summarize determination characteristics of selected species;
determine species by key;
determine whether the taxon is native or non-native;
summarize the ecological requirements of individual taxa;
decide whether the species is protected;
observe species in long term;

Teaching methods
verbal methods: lecture, explaining, the work of literature, the work with key designation, the work with atlas demonstration methods: observation The course includes two trips to Brno parks.
Assessment methods
assessments methods: the practical skills of woody species, seminar work. Fulfilling reqirements:
1) attendance - 1 absence is allowed;
2) test - recognition of woody species: student must recognize 10 from 12 specimens;
3) semestral project - long-term observations of selected woody species;
