Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: (1) to select the suitable form and method for exposure of geological curriculum, (2) plan and realize field exercises and field trip with a geological theme to understand the specific problems of teaching geology, (3) create and maintain a collection of geological material, (4) suggest and carry out geological experiments, (5) evaluate textbooks with geological themes used to compare the school, (6) to understand the geologically-oriented literature, (7) to build a cabinet of geology at school.
Syllabus
  • Didakctics of geology as a science. Teaching geology themes at the elementary school. Geological position of the curriculum in FEP. Methods, forms and means of geological education curriculum. Cabinet geology teacher. Excursions and field training in geology.

Teaching methods
Teaching methods: verbal methods, laboratory methods (observation), methods of work with literature. Training forms: field trips, individual work.
Assessment methods
Students will receive credit for: active participation in seminars (alloewed 1 absence), participation on field exkursion, design of field exercises or exkursions with geological theme.
