Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
characterize position of Natural history curriculum in FEP;
incorporate specific lesson of Natural history in FEP;
characterize different forms of teaching;
complete record of observations in lesson of Natural History;
formulate educational objectives for a specific lesson of Natural History;
didactically analyze the curriculum;
build a thematic plan for education in Natural History;
create preparation on Natural History lesson;
Syllabus
  • 1st Working with the Framework Educational Programme for Elementary Education (FEPEE).
  • 2nd Types of learning objectives
  • 3rd Taxonomy of learning objectives and their formulation for a specific lesson of Natural History.
  • 4th Analysing of curriculum in didactic sense.
  • 5th Creation of conceptual maps.
  • 6th Interdisciplinary relations in the Natural History lessons.
  • 7th Virtual classroom observations on Natural History lesson - completing the recording sheet and evaluating sheet.
  • 8th Preparing for a lesson of Natural History.
  • 9th Creation of an annual thematic plan of Natural History curriculum for a particular class of elementary school.

Teaching methods
Form of teaching: seminar, theoretical preparation Methods of instruction: explanation, discussion, working with worksheets, work with literature observations.
Assessment methods
Assessments methods: participation on seminars (1 absence is allowed) and accepting of "Receptar of beginning teachers" There will be developed seven materials verifying learning outcomes in seminars "Receptar of beginning teachers": processing of written materials The fulfilling requirements:
1) The completed worksheet Natural curriculum and its position in the FEP
2) Educational objectives formulated for an hour of Natural History
3) Conceptual map on specific lesson of Natural History
4) Overview of interdisciplinary relations developed in a particular class of natural history.
5) The completed answer sheet and evaluation sheet from the virtual classroom lesson of natural history.
6) The preparation of natural history lesson.
7) The proposal of annual thematic plan for teaching natural history in a particular year. The deadlines for sumission od these materials will be communicated at th first seminar. Correction will follow after submission of materials from all students.
