Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
First to perform common activities related to the care of     school garden / playground nature   autumn and winter,
2. to implement phenological observations autumn and winter months,
3. Prepare subject teaching in the school garden / nature corner in focusing on the use of practical skills (autumn vegetables and fruits in the fall, field crops in the fall)
4. Propose and pupils realize simple thematic arrangement of   commonly available natural products.
The aim is to develop the level of knowledge of basic networking concepts and basic knowledge from the area of meteorology, climatology, soil science, botany, zoology, and agricultural ecology, basic education for cultivation and animal husbandry by the FEP.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to   grower works
  • 2. Fundamentals of Agroecology (soil as a medium for growing the plants, plant nutrition and fertilization, basics of meteorology and climatology)
  • 3. Basics of plant production (factors affecting the growth and development of plants, plant classification in relation to crop production  ; harmful agents of plants and protection against them; plant breeding)
  • 4. Ornamentals (importance and classification; outdoor ornamental plants, house plants, protection against diseases and pests)
  • 5. Vegetables (meaning and principles of cultivation; lesser known vegetables, diseases and pests)
  • 6. Medicinal plants, spices (meaning, usage, basics of growing, harvesting)
  • 7. Floristry - flower arrangement
  • 8. Field crops and expanding cereals
  • 9. Fruit plants
  • 10. Protection of plants
  • 11. Survey of the major works in the garden
