Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to learn the history of French and francophone literature of the given period; to define mains elements of differentiate individual literary styles; to illustrate the theory by means of texts. At the end of this course, students should be able to differentiate individual literary styles of the given period, categorise them chronologically and compare them reciprocally.
Syllabus
  • 1. Literature at the end of 19th and at the beginning of 20th centuries. 1. Fiction between the wars. 2. The period after WW II (existentialism and absurd drama). 3. New fiction and literature of the second halve of 20th century. 4. Contemporary French literature.
