Course objectives
The goal of the subject is to acquaint students with the history of the origin and development of literature for children and youth, with its specific features and to emphasise the importance of the children literature for the development of their personality.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students: • are able to work with different types of texts for children and youth, they will be also capable to analyze them • have the capacity to consider didactics use of a literary text that is intended for children • understand how to work appropriately with a literary text during the lessons of French at primary schools • use the knowledge from the course to create their own didactic materials, classical or interactive • apply the knowledge and skills from the course in practice

  • 1. Origin and development of children literature in general. 2. French and francophone authors of children literature from the beginning until now. 3. French publishers and editions specialised for this kind of literature. 4. Specific genres, comics. 5. Analyses and criticism of texts oriented on young readers.
