Course objectives
The aim of the course is to summarize the knowledge of morphology by selecting chapters that cause problems for students. These are in particular determinants and adjectives, but also selected verbal forms and the use of participles.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to: demonstrate important theoretical knowledge of French grammar; explain the relationships between individual grammatical categories, see them in broader contexts, and apply the lessons learned in oral and written speech at C1 level.
Syllabus
  • 1. Determinants: members, dependent pronouns. 2. Place of the determinants in the sentence and their functions. 3. Adjective, its position, the function of attributes, exceptions. 4. Present particple as a verbal form, as a verbal adjective (agreement). 5. Past particple concorded with the subject and object. 6. Shapes of past participles complex, passive. 7. Semi-predicative structures.
