Course objectives
The aim of the first part of the course is to introduce students to contemporary French literature at the turn of the 20th and 21st century, to orient them in literary production and various types of novels. The second part of the course will be devoted to the overview of the history of French-French literature from the beginnings to the present day with the greatest emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries. These are the literature of Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, the Caribbean and the French-speaking countries of Africa. Literary tendencies, directions and groups will be embedded in the wider cultural context of the period and will be supplemented with medallions of selected authors and interactive analysis of selected texts.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to recognize the individual literary directions of the period, interpret the characteristic features of each direction and compare the French and francophone representatives of the given directions.

Assessment methods
Workshop Ending: Colloquium Requirements for ending: Based on the study of contemporary French literature and individual francophone literature and work with texts, the student develops a methodological sheet intended for pupils at the secondary school level ie for the A2-B1 level. The paper will focus on pupils' competence to understand the written literary text and to notice the features typical of the area. The student presents his work in a seminar and then submits it in written form.
