Course objectives
The aim of praxis is to present to student teachers the authentic educational processes in school classrooms, which is meant to help them with the transition from the role of student to the role of teachers. The aim is to observe the teachers' pedagogical acting in classroom situations, relationships between pupils and teachers.
Learning outcomes
Upon finishing the course, the students are able to: present observation and interview protocols, clarify and exemplify the value dimension in education, describe the processes that lead to social and other exclusion and suggest preventive steps, suggest specific strategies for pupils to develop positive classroom climate.
Syllabus
  • 1. Observation and analysis of the educational environment; 2. Analysis of factors that influence the quality of the educational environment. 3. Teacher observation and teacher interview concerning classroom climate. 4. Using diagnostic tools (MCI-questionnaire, FIAS). 5. Affective aspects of classroom processes, empathy. 6. Understanding the pupils' worlds. Constructivism. 7. Moral development of pupils and related diagnostics. 8. Teacher's assistent in the classroom and their roles. 9. Observation protocols, pedagogical journals, student portfolios.

Developing observation protocols, writing pedagogical journal and constructing student portfolios. Presentation of (action) research findings.
