Course objectives
The course aims to acquire basic knowledge of neurology for the needs of behavioral analysts. Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject introduces topics of general neurology, eg nervous system anatomy, neuron and reflex activity, motor and sensitive system and its disorders, peripheral nervous and vegetative autonomic system, brain (head) nerves, reticular brain stem formation, cerebral cortex, functional asymmetry of brain hemispheres, symbolic function, fatal function, consciousness and sleep. Specialized neurology deals with light brain dysfunction, neurodevelopmental disorders, epileptic syndromes, pediatric neuroses, and CNS injuries.
Learning outcomes
The student can understand and explain the fundamentals of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology; use nervous system information in behavioral analytical practice, will comprehensively understand the symptoms of LMD and epileptic syndrome, neurodevelopmental disorders, and CNS injuries. The graduate will be familiar with the spectrum of examination methods in neurology. They will also be able to explain the methods of diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases, explain the logic of differential diagnosis with a focus on neurodevelopmental disorders. Graduates can explain ways and forms of cooperation between a neurologist and a behavioral analyst.
