Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce (a) basic principles and limits of the constructive geometry in euclidean plane, (b) useful transformations of euclidean spaces, (c) standard stereometric problems and their solutions, (d) basic methods of descriptive geometry.
Syllabus
  • (a) Introduction to Euclidean geometry, Euclidean constructions, circles and cycles, problem of Apollonius and related problems.
  • (b) Isometries, homotheties, parallel and central projections, basic affinities and collineations, circle and sphere inversions.
  • (c) Intersection of line and plane, plane intersections of solid bodies, distances and angles.
  • (d) Free parallel projection, Monge orthogonal projection, axonometric projection, perspective.
