Prerequisites
Knowledge of German on lower intermediate level as documented by passing the exam at the end of the preceding summer term; ability and willingness to participate in German based classroom activities;

Course objectives
During the semester we will be concerned with the first unites of "em Hauptkurs NEU (edition 2005)" which will be supplemented by additional material. Thematically, classes will focus on the topics "people and their biographies", "Languages", "Cities and special places", and (if there will be time left) "consumption". The aim is to further develop practical oral and written language skills in German.
Syllabus
  • - Unit 3: Portraits of big cities (Berlin, Wien, München); word order rules; - Unit 4: Habits of todays consumption societies; vital statistics on German and Czech population (how to read and interpret statistics). - Unit 5: Love and Partnership, Expressing Guesses, Letters to the Editor. Grammar: Nouns.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Um den Schein in JCV 4 zu erwerben, muss der Teilnehmer vor allem den schriftlichen Test am Ende des Semesters bestehen. Im Laufe des Semesters ist aktive Mitarbeit erforderlich, auch außerhalb der Stunde. Es werden auch (einige wenige) schriftliche Hausübungen bzw. eine Präsentation in Gruppen verlangt. Daneben besteht Anwesenheitspflicht: Bei mehr als 6 Absenzen wird kein Schein vergeben. Písemný test bude v poslední vyučovací hodině, 19. 12. 2006. Náhradné termíny se (podle potřeby) stanovují po domluvě.
