Course objectives
The course focusses on reviewing the most important grammatical phenomena of German. By attending the course, students should be guided towards successfully passing the exam at the end of the first year of study.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to: - use the most common forms and structures of German in spoken and written communication, - identify problematic cases and come up with acceptable solutions (using textbooks and reference grammars).

  • 1. declension of adjectives, substantivised adjectives, participles as attributes 2. Conditional - systematisation Conditional II - use Conditional I - use 3. passive voice - systematisation - process passive, state passive, passive with modal verbs, substitute forms 4. Possibly further topics

Course objectives

This course is a follow-up course of the “NJ_D201” in the winter term and finishes the revision of German core grammar in the first year. It deals with some basic syntactic construction types in German. By attending grammar course 1 & 2, students get prepared for the final exam at the end of the first year.

Course objectives
This course is a follow-up course of the “NJ_D201” in the winter term and finishes the revision of German core grammar in the first year. It deals with some basic syntactic construction types in German. By attending grammar course 1 & 2, students get prepared for the final exam at the end of the first year. At the end of the course, students should be able to: - use the most common forms and structures of German in spoken and written communication, - identify problematic cases and come up with acceptable solutions (using textbooks and reference grammars).

  • - conditiopnal I and conditional II,
  • - Infinitival constructions,
  • - Verb position in matrix sentences and embedded sentences,
  • - Conjunctions and different types of conjoined sentences (causal, conditional, etc)
