Course objectives
The aim is to help students to understand the cultural and historical context of Slovakia and the Slovaks as a precondition for good relations.
Syllabus
  • History and culture in prehistoric times. History and culture in Ancient times. History and culture in the Middle ages. History and culture in the Reformation time, Turkish expansion, the uprisings against the Habsburgs. Slovak National Revival. Slovakia in Austria - Hungury. Slovaks in the World War I. Slovaks in Czechoslovakia. Slovakia during World War II. The Slovac Republic today - current problems. UNESCO in Slovakia.
