Course objectives
Dual feature of language. Exactitude and intelligibility. The structure, the meaning and the value. The expression of the truth in language. The principles of argumentation and main fallacies.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • Problém původu a podstaty jazyka. Skutečnost jazyka a skutečnost mimojazyková. Znak, označující a označované. Ikona, index, symbol. Semiotika jako věda o znacích. Paradigma obratu k jazyku ve 20. století. Jazyk jako forma pojmového myšlení, logická analýza jazyka,pojem,výrok, argument, teorie. Vrstva syntaxe, sémantiky a pragmatiky. Expresivita jazyka, jeho přesnost, srozumitelnost, úloha analogie, metafory a metonymie. Strukturalismus. Vyjádření pravdy a existence v jazyce. Nejčastější chyby,jichž se při argumentaci dopouštíme. Dvojí způsob, jímž se projevuje lidská svoboda v jazyce.
