Course objectives
Students will develop communicative skills, practice grammar and lexical items based on certain topics. Students advance from preparatory excercises to individual verbal and written expression by the means of discussions, excercises and writing.
Syllabus
  • 1 to 2 Features. Properties. Adjectives. Relative and interrogative pronouns. Short forms of adjectives. 3 to 4 Clothing. Fashion. Adverbial present and past. Declension of pronouns весь. 5 to 6 Traffic signs. Driving a car. Traffic accidents. Adjectives verbal person. Adjectives passive verb. 7 to 8 At the post office. In the bank. The clutch. Являться - linking verb. Infinitive in Russian and Czech. Use of prepositions. 9 to 10 Russian Federation: geography, state system. State power of president. Inflection surname. 11 to 12 Russian holidays and traditions. Inflection generic numerals. Fractions and decimals. Repetition.

Teaching methods
The student must regulary prepare for the seminar, do required home assingnments, listen and read Russian texts, translate from Czech to Russian language and contrariwise.
Assessment methods
Fulfilling requirements active participation on lessons, attendance (2 allowed absences); doing of homeworks; encompassment of final writting test and oral discission (Russian language).
Discussion with the teacher will be held. The discussion will be based on the topics from the course, the reading (Russian book - 180- 200 p., which student will bring and show to teacher), and listening (audio, video, DVD in Russian). The student should also provide a vocabulary exercise book, which will contain at least fifty new words.
