Course objectives
The aim of the course is to fix knowledge from lectures Syntax II. At the end of this course the student will be able to analyze the syntactic phenomena of contemporary Russian language; to compare the syntactic system of Russian and Czech languages; to use syntactic structures in oral communication correctly.
Syllabus
  • Compound and Complex sentences. General comparison with the Czech sentences.
  • Compound sentence. Classification and analysis.
  • Determining the type of compound sentences, their translation into Czech language.
  • Complex sentence. Classification and analysis. Translation into Czech language.
  • Asyndetical sentence. Analysis and comparison with Czech language.
  • Sentences of different types of syntactic connection.

Teaching methods
Seminar. The student must regulary prepare for the seminar and do required home assignments. Individual and group work. Translation from Czech to Russian language.
Assessment methods
The requirements: 1. regular active participation in the class; 2. continuous assessment and doing the required home assignments based on the learned theory and terminology; 3. final test at the end of course based on the work done in the class.
