Course objectives
The aim is to deepen the knowledge and practice of Practical language exercises; to develop the communicative competence; to extend vocabulary thematically corresponding to the course Practical language exercises 4; to deepen knowledge of grammatical phenomena, taking into account the differences between the Russian and Czech languages.
Learning outcomes
At the end of course student is able to converse on discussed topics; to use properly intonation construction, phraseology units; student will also improve his written and oral skills.

  • The family and its modern concept. Family problems nowadays.
  • Relationships. Me and my surroundings.
  • Profession. Current trends in this area.
  • Job market. Unemployment.
  • Problems of contemporary society: social, health, safety, environmental.
  • Problems of youth. The role of the teacher in solving some problems.

Teaching methods
Seminar. The student must regulary prepare for the seminar and do required home assignments. Individual work and group projects on given topics. Listening and reading of Russian texts.
Assessment methods
The credit requirements: 1. active participation in the class; 2. regular assessment and doing the required home assignments; 3. an essay on the given topic which student must write and hand in (during the last study week at the latest).
