Course objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce students to Soviet and Russian cinematography.Each seminar will be dedicated to a certain theme. Another course objective is developing intercultural communicative competence and speech skills of the students through authentic audiovisual materials.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will acquire knowledge of Soviet and contemporary Russian film production and will be able to discuss different genres and themes of Russian cinematography.
Syllabus
  • During the semester students will be introduced to films from the following thematic areas:
  • 1. Children's films
  • 2. Animated films
  • 3. Soviet and Russina comedy and satire
  • 4. Historical films
  • 5. Cinematic adaptations of literary works
  • 6. Films about the New Year

During the semester, students have to watch at least 6 films (at least one on each theme) and submit 6 film reviews.

It is possible to get a credit even before the beginning of the examination period.

You can finish this subject distantly, the attendance is not compulsory
