Course objectives
The aim is to familiarize students with the functioning of words within the language system, its roles and functions in various stylistic levels. Emphasis is placed on links between the plan and the interdependence of lexical and stylistic, of the word and its functioning in various genres functional styles. The lecture is the theoretical basis of lexical and stylistic analysis of the text.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to: - include the vocabulary used for functional styles, - to characterize the functional styles in terms of the language resources used, - to focus on the characteristics of the word in terms of its stylistic differentiation, - to know the current trends of vocabulary development and changes in the characteristic of functional styles.

  • 1. Russian language vocabulary and its use in functional styles. 2. Professional functional style. Terminology and stock phrases. 3rd settled idioms and phrases. Administrative functional style. 4. Transfer the meanings of words. Journalistic functional style. 5. The words and neutral konotovaná and their use in various stylistic planes text. 6. Specifics style prostěsdělovacího. Russian General. 7. Artistic functional style. Specifics, linguistic peculiarities. 8. The tropics. Stylistic devices. 9. Emotional and expressive vocabulary in Russian. 10. Synonyms, their roles and use in various stylistic planes. 11. Homonyms. Interlingual homonyms. Antonyms 12. The use of functional styles.
