Course objectives
Practice and fixation of printing and writing form of Russian alphabet, pronunciation, and intonation. Improvement of reading and listening skills, and basic oral and written expression. Introduction to new lexical stock and basics of Russian grammar. Work with recordings on the Internet.

Teaching methods
Students work up homework and within an individual work they elaborate lexical excercises and essays during the study. Students work individually and they continuously read Russian texts.
Assessment methods
A successful graduation from a written test (75%). Obligatory homework is required for admission to the test. The test is written in the examination period, the pre-term is only possible in the so-called. "credit week", earlier termination is not possible. Attendance is not compulsory.
