Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to introduce students to modern disciplines dealing with speech and speech strategies (pragmatics) and models of the human mind and conceptualizing thinking (cognitive linguistics). Another aim of the course is to extend the language and intercultural competence of students.
Syllabus
  • 1. Pragmatics as a scientific discipline, relation to semantics and grammar. 2. Theory of speech acts. 3. Pragmatics in Russian. 4. Cognitive linguistics as a scientific discipline, the relationship between cognitive linguistics and culture. 5. The concept as a basic unit of thought. Dictionaries of concepts. 6. Concepts in Russian.
