Course objectives
The goal of the subject is introduce students to the field of psychology. It focuses especially on basic concepts, theories and methodoligical approaches of cognitive psychology.
Syllabus
  • What is psychology, psychology and folk psychology, psychology and related fields - biology, philosophy, psychiatry, cybernetics, mathematics, sociology, anthropology, ethnology; psychology as a theory of action, strategies of explanation of behaviour; psychology as a science - prediction, control, understanding; sources of psychological knowledge - theory and personal experience; science versus practice; psycholgy and the art.
  • Psychology as a helping profession, bourn out syndrome, motivation to be a psychologist, problem of the power, projection.
  • cognitive psychology 1 - perception, attention
  • cognitive psychology 2 - memory, mental representation
  • cognitive psychology 3 - thought, language, problem solving
