Prerequisites
Students will have a course syllabus will be introduced to study literature, including electronic information resources. A prerequisite is basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and human biology, general psychology and first aid at the high school level. Listeners can ask questions, comments, suggestions. In their complaints, the teacher focuses on the more difficult or hot topics.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain basic concepts of social phenomena, in historical context, describe their development and appearance. Learn about the etiology, classification, leading representatives of the various groups, the impact on individuals and the community. Inquire about the epidemiology of social pathologies, methods of mapping, types of studies, monitoring, the legislative point of view. To provide an overview of characters, indicating the possible occurrence of social pathologies in the family, at school, during leisure activities, at work. Give a general overview of preventive and therapeutic measures, analyse the specific examples of preventive programs, the possibility of intervention and first aid. Outputs from the teaching: Upon successful completion of this course the student gets an idea of ​​the basic types of social pathologies, their causes, risk and protective factors, prevention. Will be able to independently design and prepare a preventive project and implement it within the school environment.

• Acquire an overview of the basic types of social pathology, its causes, risky and protective factors and prevetion

Syllabus
  • 1. Fundaments of the filed, basic terms, classification.
    2. History, causes, theory of social pathologies, bio-psycho-social model.
    3. Substance drug abuse including alcohol and tobacco (signs, symptoms, types, solutions).
    4. Non-substance drugs including gambling, other types of addictive behavior (signs, symptoms, solutions).
    5. Suicide, crime, child abuse, CAN syndrome.
    6. Bullying and cyberbullying, risky behavior associated with the misuse of ICT.
    7. Teacher as a social worker, counseling, treatment, resocialization.
    8. Minimum prevention program, prevention at school, in the family, in the leisure.
    9. Preparation and examples of prevention projects.
    10.Epidemiology of social pathologies, basic information resources.

Teaching methods
Seminar. Theoretical preparation of the recommended printed and electronic information resources. Feedback - students can ask questions during the lectures, comments, suggestions for discussion. If necessary, it is possible to further discuss these suggestions in consultation hours.
Assessment methods
To pass the course is required written test of 30 questions on the content of the syllabus. The answers are offered in a closed form, the right is just one of several listed. It should reach at least 50% correct answers.
