The course is prepared for students of Special Education - communication techniques; Finished basic course of pedagogy of visually impaired.

Course objectives
After successful completion of this course the student will - be familiar with basic information from education of the students with visual impairments with regards to regular and specific curriculum strategies used for the students - acquire knowledge of the functional effects of the eye diseases and their impact on education - know the differences of the severity of the visual impairments - low vision and blindness, partial sight - be familiar with the educational and intervention system of visually impaired people - focus on the assessment of the skills and instructions used for enhancement of the skills
Learning outcomes

  • 1.Theoretical paradigms of the education of persons with visual impairment. 2. Ethical consequences of education of persons with visual impairment. 3. School councelling for children, students and adults with visual impairments. 4. The educational approaches and instructions for students with visual impairments, school system. 5. Functional effects of eye diseases and their impact on the educational process and everyday life. 6. Access to information, aids and assistive technologies for people with visual impairments. 7. Communication with persons with visual impairments, guide techniques. 8. Strategies and approaches for children and students with visual impairments according to age. 9. Strategies and approaches for children and students with visual impairments according to specific skills. 10. Educational strategies for children and students with visual impairments and other disabilities.
