Graduating of SPSMK_S4g1. Listeners will have the course syllabus and will be acquainted to study literature, including electronic information resources. Assumption is knowledge of the basic human anatomy and physiology at the high school level. Listeners can ask questions, comments, suggestions. According to their complaints, the teacher focuses on the more difficult or current topics. In the event that students in the program select none topic, teachers will systematically discuss the difficult and important parts of the curriculum that are essential for their further specialization.

The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The education of pupils with moderate mental disabilities: Student gain theoretical knowledge of personality and education of people with mild mental disabilities. The goal is for students to understand and explain the term "mental retardation" in the context of the current concept of terminology in education persons with mental disabilities. The course is mastery of current knowledge about the possibilities of pupils with mild mental disabilities education, including join training with intact pupils. Students should be able to present reasoned decision on the inclusion of pupils with mild mental disabilities into the educational system and to interpret his knowledge of advice and legislation. Addictology: Student gets an idea about the fundamentals of drug prevention and epidemiology, their types, structure, methods and application. Get acquainted with the minimal preventive program and selected activities at the community level prevention. Obtains information about the possibilities of diagnosis, intervention, treatment and rehabilitation of people affected by pathological addictions, the basic legislation in the field of substance abuse.
Syllabus
  • The education of pupils with moderate mental disabilities: 1.Education of people with intellectual disabilities theory, basic terms. 2.Personality pupil with moderate mental disability. 3.Advisory services for students participating in special elementary school. 4.Special elementary school, preparatory stage. Definition in the education system. 5.Educational programs designed for special elementary school. 6.Pupil of special elementary school (pupils with moderate learning disabilities, pupils with severe mental disabilities, pupils with multiple disabilities, autism, Down syndrome). 7.Diagnostics in special education focused on the pupil with moderate mental disabilities. 8.Didactic principles used in teaching at special elementary school. The teaching methods used in teaching in special elementary school including specific work methods (basal stimulation, snoezelen therapy). 9.Educational forms used in special elementary school, specifics of education, the structure of preparing teachers for the teaching block. 10.Specific teaching aids used in special elementary school. 11.Career ​​counseling for pupils with moderate learning disabilities, the specifics of a job. 12.Legislative regarding educational issues of education of pupils with severe mental disability   educational law decree. Addictology: 1.Basic concepts and context of prevention and epidemiology of addiction. 2.History, classification, characterization and application of prevention. 3.Importance of prevention for society and for individuals, organizations dealing with the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation. 4.Possibilities of supply and implementation of prevention in the Czech Republic and abroad, the past experience. 5.Minimum preventive program, the development, application in schools. 6.Methodology preventive work with selected population groups, community prevention. 7.Effectiveness of prevention, the importance of monitoring and evaluation, relevant preventive programs. 8.Drug Epidemiology (origin, development, importance, filling the field, opportunities to study drug scene). 9.Study of socio-pathological phenomena in the population, the current state and development of the drug scene in the Czech Republic and abroad. 10.Possible intervention - counseling and treatment for drug addiction. 11.Criminal responsibility and current legislation in the field of narcotics and psychotropic substances and poisons.
