Course objectives
Students get the information about mobility training in persons with visual impairment. Students should at the end of the course: understand the background of mobility in people with a different visual impairment; work with information on the use of personal strategies in mobility and the use of assistive technologies. Lectures are organised mostly outdoors.
Learning outcomes
Student understands the principles of independent movement and orientation in the area of blind people, can recommend suitable tools, knows the work with aids.

  • Osnova: Mobility in people with visual impairments.
  • The use of white cane by people with a limited visual perception.
  • Mobility with a guide.
  • The use od personal strategies in mobility in/ and ooutdoors.
  • The use of assistive technologies.

Assessment methods
The course credit: making assignments, participation in lectures is essencial. Essay about mobility in visually impaired/photos of barrier and nonbarrier environment for the persons with visual impairments.
