Course objectives
The aim of this course is to gain basic knowledge about inclusive education and provision for students with special educational needs in mainstream schools. The course topics consisted of the introduction to inclusive education terminology, description of conditions of inclusive education and provisions for students with special educational needs depending on their difficulties. The emphasis will be given to comparison of inclusive educational conditions in foreign countries compare to the Czech Republic.
Learning outcomes
After the course, student will be able to: define general terms in connection with inclusive education; describe the elements of contemporary provision for students with special educational needs; define factors influencing effectivity of inclusive education.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to terminology of inclusive education. Factors influencing inclusive education – internal and external factors supporting development of inclusive school environment. Development of supportive relationship among teachers and cooperation in multidisciplinary team (shared problem solving, co-teaching method, counselling). Establishment of effective communication with parents. Classroom conditions (INCLUDE Strategy and its implementation). Supportive measures for students with special educational needs.
