Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to understand and to apply the information in education of people with multiple handicap; to learn the information of education of visually impaired, physically and mentally handicapped.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students can: - identify and describe the disability types and forms;
- describe the specific support and special aids;
- describe the communication and movement specifics according to the type of disability;
Syllabus
  • Education of Individuals with multiple handicap: Moving disorders - range, terms. Speech disorders range, characteristic. Disorders of cognisance epilepsy, range, displays, first aid, and education. The consequence of the move and communication abilities of children with the cerebral palsy. Types of therapy, RIP, timetable and the program of care. The principles of development of move and communication abilities of children with cerebral palsy. The development of the movement of legs, the methodology of the walk training. Development of hands and communication. The organisation and the methodology of the team training. Equipment and aids, psycho - hygienic and environment. Perception of physically disabled. Hypnotic and move handicap. Pedagogy of visually impaired: Categories of people with visual impairments, occurrence and causes, children with multiple disabilities, heterogenity of the group, deaf-blind children, psychical processes in visually handicapped, system of schools for visually impaired, counselling, special educational centres, technical aids, visual stimulation, mobiliy, guide dogs. Quality of life, spare time. Acceptance of handicap, self-confidence and authonomy. Pedagogy of persons with mental handicap: Mentally disabled, aetiology, classification of mentall disability, diagnostics, charakteristics of individual grades, education and upbringing of mentally disabled, system of schools, special educational centres, special metodologies, alternative forms of communication, pre-professional and professional work with mentally disabled, legislation, social care institutions, stacionary centres, charity and non-state organizations.
