Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical knowledge in the field of personality and education of people with intellectual disabilities, theoretical knowledge of communication and impaired communication skills. To master the specifics of ontogenesis of the speech of people with mental disabilities, to acquire knowledge regarding speech characteristics of people with mental disabilities, depending on the degree, type and form of mental disability.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to explain the specifics of the personality of individuals with mental disability after completing the subject, he will focus on the education of pupils with slight mental disabilities. The student will be able to clarify the terms language, speech, impaired communication ability. It will focus on contemporary aspects of speech ontogeny and language skills. She will be focused on speech development in pupils with mental disabilities. He / she can explain the specifics in the development of linguistic levels, he / she will be acquainted with the possibilities of development of language levels depending on the degree and type of disability.
Syllabus
  • Education of people with intellectual disabilities: terminological background; Legislation on school education for pupils with mental disabilities; The range of pupils with mental disabilities (personality specifics, cognitive processes, variability of developmental traits), counseling system providing services to pupils with mild mental disabilities, pre-school education. Framework education program for pre-school education; elementary School. Framework education program for elementary education; Primary Special School. Framework education program for special education primary school; Special pedagogical diagnostics aimed at people with intellectual disabilities; Didactic principles, methods, forms and means in the education of pupils with mental disabilities differentiated according to degree of mental disability, including specific methods of work at special primary school; Status of therapies in the education of mentally handicapped pupils; Pre-vocational training and lifelong learning for people with mental disabilities. Logopaedics: the concept of speech therapy, the position of speech therapy in the system of sciences. Collaboration with other disciplines. Logoped, logopedic assistant. The system of speech therapy intervention in the Czech Republic. Legislation in force in logopedic intervention; Communication, meaning of communication in human life. Characteristics of verbal, non-verbal communication. Communication process, process of communication process. Impaired communication ability, division, classification of impaired communication ability; Speech development disorders (disrupted speech development), speech disorders. Speech ontogenesis in children with mental disabilities. Influence of degree, form and type of mental disability on speech development; Anatomy and physiology of speech organs (respiratory, phonic, articulative). Orthopedic muscles innervation; Dyslalia - etiology, manifestations, classification. Access Policy for Diesel Removal. Drossel removal process; Phonetics, subject of phonetics research, phonetic methodology - basic elements of spoken speech, division of sounds. Hlasy in the Czech language, physiological formation of vowels and consonants; Approaches to the development of individual linguistic levels in pupils with mental disabilities (phonetic-phonological, lexical-semantic, morphological-syntactic, pragmatic level).
