Course objectives
Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the specifics of diagnostics of impaired communication skills in children and pupils with impaired communication ability, the organization of activities of advisory facilities, the possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation within the complex diagnostic process and also with related legislative measures.
Syllabus
  • Communication, impaired communication ability and its role in education; Characteristics of impaired communication skills - special educational needs, model of speech therapy.  Early diagnostics of speech development and language skills from logoped's point of view, interdisciplinary cooperation.  Diagnostic procedures used in high risk children during unintentional and intentional communication.  Diagnostic domain - phonetic-phonological plane (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - morphological-syntactical plane (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - lexical-semantic plane; Understanding (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - pragmatic plane (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - reading, writing, motoring, graphing (specifics, diagnostic tools).  Diagnostic domain - auditory and visual perception, orientation, memory and attention (specifics, diagnostic tools).

Processing a case study of a child / pupil and its presentation; written test (75% of the correct answers to the test), oral exam. 70% attendance is required.
