Course objectives
The students will teoretically learn the problematic of persons with dual sensory impairment, especially with an emphasis on the possibilities of communication of these persons. They will learn basics of some communicative forms and some of them they will try to use. The students will be able to propose the procedures in the education of children and pupils with deafblindness and they will be able to imagine the development of their communication competences through the different communication forms. The students will learn the theory and practice of the communication competences development by the persons with acquired and inborn deafblindness. The will use the skills acquired until this time and will learn to combinate various approaches according to the grade of sight and hearing by the children with deafblindness. They will be able to create the concrete groundwork for the realisation of the communication skills development on the grounds of concrete case report and they will be able to discuse about it.
Learning outcomes
Students will be focused on communication of people with deafblindness and legislative regulations determining the right to use selected communication forms. They will also be able to orient themselves in the possibilities of developing communication skills in deafblind individuals and to know the principles for using tactile sign language and other tactile forms of communication in developing communication competencies.

Assessment methods
Written test (it is necessary to successfully cope with 75% correct answers) and oral exam, practical exam. Processing a case study reflecting the level of communication skills achieved by an individual with deafblindness.
