Prerequisites
The course aims to provide students with basic insight into the problems of the museum pedagogy and the museum education with a focus on the connection between museum phenomenon and social pedagogy. Attention will be paid not only on educational potential of the museum and its possible cooperation with school, but also its role in the context of edutainment, its use in the context of preventive activities and the personality development of museum visitors. Therefore, the space will be also devoted to the topic of the possible types of museum visitors and the community potentials. Finally, it will be open the topic of national identity in museum as a place of ritual.

Course objectives
The course is designed primarily for students of pedagogy disciplines who are interested in the topic of museum pedagogy and integrating the topic of museum education and harnessing the potential of museum to its knowledge capital. At the end of the course students will be able to define basic terms, explain the phenomenon of museum pedagogy and outline its possible use in different fields of pedagogy. Students will be able to assess the importance of museum for leisure time as well as its role and potential in the framework of cooperation with schools and other institutions. The aim is to develop practical skills and abilities of students. Students will realize the positives arising from the use of museum and educational activities and they will acquire skills associated with planning and realizing own educational activities.
