Prerequisites
The course aims at incorporating new Czech and foreign knowledge from educational, psychological and pedagogical research on school instruction and learning into teacher education. It attempts to integrate these findings and assess their significance for the school practice.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the students will be able to: • apply adequately the basic terminology to describe, analyze, interpret and evaluate the curricular documents and instructional situations, and use the terminology in the teaching practice; • characterize the selected quality criteria of instruction and give reasons for their importance for the teacher´s daily routine on the basis of practical examples; • plan, implement and evaluate the teaching unit on the basis of self-reflection (reasoning the relevance of the subject matter, objectives, contents, methods, evaluation and alteration); • formulate teaching tasks of different cognitive levels; • give reasons for using specific teaching methods during their teaching practice, review those methods critically and suggest other possibile methods which can be used in the same or similar teaching context; • with regard to the teaching objective provide an adequate way of assessing the pupils; • actively and effectively work on his/her professional growth.
Syllabus
  • Methods. Methodological tools (aids) and organizational forms of pedagogy instruction, respectively its subdisciplines. The specifics of pedagogy teacher´s work in different organizational forms. Pupils´assessment. Formative and summative assessment, normative and criteria assessment, autonomous and heteronomous assessment and the validity of the assessment. Assessment of pupils at the entrance exams, graduation exams, during the teaching practice.

Teaching methods
Group discussion, problem teaching, self-study of compulsory and recommended literature, preparation and presentation of the thesis from the given literature, continuous fulfilling of the requested tasks.
Assessment methods
Before taking the examination in SP, the students must hand in a seminary work meeting the following criteria: 1. Choose one thematic unit within one grade which is specified in a given SEP. Introduce the position of the chosen thematic unit in the context of the SEP of the school. 2. Make a didactic analysis of the subject (concepts, learning tasks, interdisciplinary relations). 3. Formulate general objectives for the chosen thematic unit. 4. Divide the thematic unit into several teaching lessons. 5. For each teaching lesson formulate subgoals derived from the general objectives, and in accordance with this, suggest optimal activities (learning tasks). 6. On the basis of your teaching practice experience consider the specific needs of the pupils.
