Course objectives
Annotation: The topics discussed in the course - models of art education curricula in primary schools - interdisciplinary overlaps of the art education curricula, proportions of traditional art disciplines and disciplines using new media.

The aim of the seminar is to present students with the concepts of curricula and programs for different types of schools (primary, secondary and vocational schools) and the rules for art workshop preparation.

  • Ethical aspects of artistic expression.
  • Link-up curricula to current trends in fine arts.
  • Inspiration of art education through literature, music, theater.
  • Students will also be introduced to the principles of the art workshop.

Assessment methods
The students will prepare either a six-month curriculum proposal or design a program of a ten-day workshop for the selected target group, and will elaborate the text of the selected state exam question from the art education didactics. The text of the seminar paper should be at least 5 standard pages long and should be supplemented by 30 photographs. Output is checked by the teacher in face-to-face discussion with the student. The content will focus on the current status of curriculum documents.
