Course objectives
The objective of the course is to deepen the knowledge about protecting and promoting human health.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will: be able to formulate the main issues relating to human health, its protection and promotion; identify and describe health related prevention factors; be able to actively use the information in their lives and justify its significance; actively search for new information and perform a critical analysis of such information; be able to identify and describe health related risk factors; understand the importance of the family and school as significant factors affecting the health of an individual and the entire population; be able to define major prevention programmes in the world and in the Czech Republic, describe their content and significance.
Syllabus
  • 1. – 2. Prevention. Significance of primary and secondary prevention for population health. Major prevention programmes in the world and in the Czech Republic; 3. – 4. Major prevention programmes in the world and in the Czech Republic. 5. – 8. Analysis of prevention of major health risks. Chronic non-communicable diseases – epidemiology, etiology, prevention; 9. – 10. Health promotion as a combination of education and activities leading to the development of health promoting conditions; 11. – 12. Parents and educators as the most significant actors in health promotion. Workshops: 7x of allergies, HOBIT, Normal is not smoke
