Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to describe and show the technique of basic locomotor activities with a focus on walking, running, jumping, hopping and climbing. The students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the methodology of teaching running, jumping and throwing in a playful way as preparation for later training of the basic athletic disciplines relevant to the aims of specific subjects and preschool age. The students will use a set of athletic equipment Athletic Kindergarten by CAF Jipast and will learn to use the equipment in planning physical activity for preschool children.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to understand, explain and use the basic knowledge of fundamental locomotor activities with a focus on walking, running, jumping, hopping and climbing.
Syllabus
  • 1. - 2. Basic locomotor activities – walking, running.
  • 3. - 5. Basic locomotor activities – jumping, climbing.
  • 6. - 7. Manipulation activities associated with throwing various equipment.
  • 8. Preparatory and gaming exercises for the development of running speed, endurance, take-off strength and nimbleness suitable for preschool children, development of physical and mental health-oriented fitness.
  • 9. Activities aimed at learning about the human body and its parts in simple activities with available objects, aids, tools, equipment, and other things.
  • 10. Basics of safety and hygiene in preparatory training, both indoor and outdoor, injury prevention, structure of warm-up.
  • 11. Individual project on the following topic: Technique and methodology of a specific activity by means of a physical activity fairy-tale, inclusion in the daily kindergarten regimen, both indoor and outdoor.
  • 12. Preparatory games and exercises to train all skills using a set of athletic equipment Athletic Kindergarten by CAF JIPAST.
