Course objectives
The objective of the subject is to get the basic knowledge of the practical language exercises. The emphasis is placed on the improving of the communicative skills trough the dialog, monologue and discusses in the ambit of actual conversational topics.The practising of the oral and written communication, grammar and communicative skills are the base of the subject. The improving of the oral speech in the lexical and grammar aspect is the basic component. The student are simultaneously improving the listening and reading skills working with texts and actual periodicals.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will be able to discuss topics within the topics covered; use the new lexicon correctly; they will improve in written and oral expression.

  • Into the contentual part of the subject have been inserted these basic conversational topics:
  • 1. Transport and conducting of motor vehicles.
  • 2. Urban transportation.
  • 3. Free time. Hobbies.
  • 4. Travelling.
  • 5. Cinema and theatre.
  • 6. Principal theatre scenes. Theatre tradition in our country and in Russia.

Teaching methods
Regular active participation in the class and doing the required home assignments based on the topics.
Assessment methods
Credit in writing and orally. Part of the credit is regular homework, fulfillment of tasks according to the assignment, final written test (70%) from the curriculum of the whole semester and an oral interview with teacher on the topics covered. Attendance at classes and student activity in class.
