Course objectives
This course enables students to practise the following language skills in German: speaking, reading and writing. The main focus will be on conversation and reading comprehension. At the end of the course students should be able to talk on the given topics, to use the vocabulary of the given topics; to understand, paraphrase and summarize simple texts.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to: -to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment); -to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters; -describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need;
Syllabus
  • The basic learning material is the textbook "Studio D A2", lesson 1. - 3. In addition, authentic texts will be provided. Topics: 1. People and languages 2. Family 3. Travelling At the end of the course students are able to: speak about the given topics, use the new vocabulary, understand, interpret and summarize simpler texts.
