Course objectives
Outcomes: After going through this course, a student will be able to: -Describe the origins of the Universe -Introduce the Solar system and it's main objects -Explain the main movements of the Solar system -To know the educational programms related to the Universe and the Solar system
Syllabus
  • The course introduces basic contemporary knowledge about the Universe, the Solar system and it's objects and about the Earth as a planet of the Solar system. It introduces students to educational programms focused on the Universe and planet Earth. It widens the topics of planetary geography. Part of the course takes place in the planetarium of Nicolas Copernicus. Sylabus of the seminars 1. The origins of the Universe 2. The Solar system 3. The Sun 4. Planets of the Solar system 5. - 9. Teaching in the Planetarium: the seeming celestial vault, movement of stars and constellations, educational programms, observation of sky and the Sun. 10. - 12. A trip to Ondrejov observatory
