Prerequisites
The course is taught in   Russian language. It is desirable knowledge of Russian language at the level of the successful management of 1st and 2nd year fall semester RJaL field.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the reality of contemporary Russia, its traditions and culture. Provide an overview of the development of painting, music, theater. The aim is also acquiring relationships between the study of language and culture and national connotations of the word.After completing this course, students should be able to apply the knowledge and skills in practice.

  • 1. Painting. Icons and iconpainters. 2. The Russian art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Museums RF. 3. The Russian music. Folklore, classical music. 4. Author's song, modern music. 5. Theatre.Skomorokh, puppet theater. 6. Theatre   19th centurie.The most significant theater RF. 7. Ballet. 8. Russian seasons (S.Djagilev). 9. The development of film art in the 20th century. 10. Past and Present of Russian and Soviet feature and animated films. 11. National symbols of Russia. 12. Character of Russian.

Teaching methods
Lectures. Theoretical preparation for the exam during the study.
Assessment methods
Oral and written exam. If the student does not perform well at his written exam (grades D or E), he can improve at the oral exam by showing better knowledge. The answers to the questions based on the given topics. Pragmatic and stylistic accuracy will be evaluated in the written as well as in the oral exam.
