Course objectives
Didactics of Geography I deals with questions of “General Didactics“ which are applied into specific situations of teaching geography. It also deals with questions concerning the didactics of other scientific and social fields. It is about the tackling of relations in the triad: learning – teaching – education. Didactics of Geography I continues theoretical and practical curriculum of geographical disciplines in 1-4 terms. In didactical transformation of achieved knowledge, it makes use of regional principle in maximum extent.

Why teach geography? - Geographical education or education by geography? - The structure of geographical education – geographical curriculum - Development and usage of different sources for teaching geography - Student and learning in geography - Evaluation of student’s learning and its quality - Methods of teaching of geography - Organizational forms of teaching geography - From geographical curriculum to particular lesson - Teacher and professional growth
