Course objectives
The course objective is to provide students with basic facts related to methods of literary science, including its development and the way it gets reflected in literary theory and criticism. Students will be able to analyse the style of significant personalities of Czech literary science. They will also develop their knowledge of literary science and interpretational skills in order to communicate with a literary work more effectively.

Teaching methods
In the form of lectures, students will get an insight into the essentials of literary science and theoretical thinking. They will further develop their knowledge of literary science and interpretational skills in order to communicate with a literary work more effectively.

Type of course: Lecture Credit requirements: active participation, colloquium – discussion of assigned topics.
